When I was growing up my Great Grandma had a version of this recipe using dill. All of us kids could count on having those crackers and her shortbread sugar cookies for our snacks. She always had a supply in a huge round tin above the refrigerator. I don't know how she kept up with the demand because we would wipe her out every day after school. Much of my frugal ways came from my Grandma and Great Grandma because they didn't waste anything. They were the most generous women in my life and I attribute how I live my life today to what they taught me. They are no longer physically here today but the wonderful memories of them are sprinkled throughout this blog and in every Frugal thing that I do.
